Does V.C.P. use A.I. softwares ?

Yes, BUT :

1- ONLY based on our own original art,
using filters and/or ‘overpaint’ tools.
We do not word-prompt image generation

2- Only for our P.O.D. profile on RedBubble and our social networks comm (see below n°6)
(as the platform is very welcoming to AI generated designs,
allowing most profitable profiles to feature thousands of items and derivations)

3- Never for “written content”.

Why does V.C.P. allow the use of A.I. softwares ?

1- As an upcoming all encompassing, unavoidable technology,
we assume we need to find ways to integrate A.I. tech in our commercial development,
exactly as it is being done in every other industry or skills domain.

2- For the reminder, we aim to multiply revenue options for our artists and creatives.
Therefore we have to proactively test out all kinds of possibilities.

3- What matters most is the emotional satisfaction of our supporters and customers,
regardless of the method used to achieve it.
In turn, we treat every picture with utmost impartiality to ensure the best quality of illustration possible, whether it’s entirely original and has been done by a pro illustrator or if it’s AI generated from the sketches of an volunteering amateur.

4- It allows less graphically skilled creatives a possibility to earn and even to progress.

5- Depending on the project and its peculiarities, we believe A.I. Artworks can be used for the publication of 1st editions, the sales of which may help the project’s copyrights owner hire actual artists for subsequent editions.
Concerning V.C.P.’s book productions,
the use/non-use of AI tech is always mentioned on our covers and credits pages.

6- All businesses develop through social networks which legally own every image posted there.
Using A.I. for comm purposes allows to safeguard our original Art from being re-used by the companies running the networks and still offer nice pictures to our audience.

A.I. Art is the easy way, isn’t it ?

In practice, not at all.
A.I. do not and cannot ‘draw right’.
They rely on their identifications of volume and basic rules of optic to generate
more or less harmonious shapes.

- Every picture we publish that has been treated through A.I. ,
has necessitated hours of work.

Designing the seed sketch, emulating dozens of versions, sorting out the best and most adequate renders then manually tweaking, correcting and altering the image to its final form are necessary and mandatory, time-consuming and frustrating steps.

So much so that as we speak,
most of V.C.P.’s creatives actually prefer illustrating without A.I. assistance.
